Xiphos’ primary markets are small satellites, space station applications, as well as lunar landers and rovers. Our current line of standard hardware products includes the highly capable Q-cards and numerous derivatives of, and daughterboards for, the same. With low power consumption, high processing power, excellent robustness, and proven functions available off-the-shelf, our Q-cards are increasingly the preferred solution in the fast-growing field of NewSpace.
Reporting to the Test Engineering Lead, Xiphos is looking for a driven Test Specialist Intern looking to work with aerospace flight hardware. In this role, you will be executing test plans and procedures based on customer requirements, testing electronics, writing test scripts, and performing automated tests. The responsibilities for this position require the ideal candidate to work entirely on-site.
You will have hands-on experience working with flight hardware destined for space!
What you'll do

Assist with designing test procedures for Xiphos’ flight hardware, and work instructions for the production team to execute them
- Visual inspections
- Integration of test hardware; flight and engineering models with associated EGSE
- Automated test scripts (functional testing)
- Assist with creating test plans for new Xiphos products/custom projects
- Assist with debugging/problem-solving efforts for customers
- Design custom test hardware such as harnesses
- Participate in environmental testing campaigns (TVAC, shock/vibration, etc.)
- Assist with building/maintaining test computer/EGSE setups
- Continuous improvements to our test software repositories (Python)
Must have experience with:
- Programming languages: Python
- Linux
- Electronics test equipment: Multimeter, Oscilloscope, Power Supply, Waveform Generator, etc.
Nice to have experience with:
- Proficiency in French
- Spacecraft/satellite design team
- Radiofrequency (RF) design/testing
- Test framework: RobotFramework
- HW design – familiarity with electronic schematic documents
- Experience using JIRA, Confluence
- Agile work environment (sprint planning, etc.)
- Version control: Git
- Visual inspections of electronics, familiarity with IPC

Your background:
- Currently enrolled in Bachelor’s or master’s in electrical, aerospace, or related engineering
