Role Description

Reporting to the Test Team Lead, Xiphos is looking for a Test Technician with hands-on experience working with aerospace flight hardware. In this role, you will be testing Q-cards in our production lines, executing test procedures, and building test equipment. You will also solder various components on circuit boards based on customer configurations or test applications. Finally, you will support our test lab by performing equipment calibration, ESD verification, and inventory management. The responsibilities for this position require the ideal candidate to work entirely on-site.

Main tasks
  • Perform acceptance testing on production units
  • Visual inspection of electronics under a microscope
  • Perform hardware checkout of electronics
  • Load test software
  • Run functional test scripts
  • Conduct thermal cycle testing
  • Document test results
  • Build custom test hardware such as harnesses, EGSE, mechanical enclosures, mounting plates
  • Integration of test hardware; flight and engineering models with associated EGSE
  • Solder various components onto our Q-cards
  • Execute test procedures
  • Perform test lab support; equipment calibration, ESD verification, inventory management

You should have experience with:

  • Working in a lab environment: ESD, Clean-rooms, test benches, flight hardware
  • Quality Inspections: IPC-A-610
  • Soldering: Surface mount and through hole on PCB's
  • Aerospace assembly, integration, and test (AIT)
  • Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE): power supplies, multimeters, oscilloscopes
  • Building Cable Harnesses

Nice to have experience with:

  • Reading engineering drawings
  • PCB manufacturing process
  • Running automated test scripts
  • Scripting language: Python
  • Linux command line
  • Any CAD Software
  • Version control
