Q8J SDR

The Xiphos Q8J SDR is an extremely high-performance, software defined radio (SDR) platform based on the Xilinx Zynq UltraScale+ and the Analog Devices AD9361 RF agile transceiver. It provides onboard PL-accessible DDR3 memory to provide deterministic operation. The Q8J SDR is a daughterboard for the Xiphos Q8J processor. It allows the Q8J to be inserted into existing systems with high-bandwidth radio or RF streams. High-performance SDR algorithms can then be run on the Q8J's processor or FPGA.

The Q8J SDR card offers the following key features:

Interfaces:
  • 2x RF Out, 2x RF In, Gigabit Ethernet, CAN Bus, SPI, GPS In, PPS In, LVDS GPIO
Additional Functions:
  • AD9361 RF agile transceiver, 1 GB DDR3 PL-accessible DDR3, 4GB NAND Flash
Size:
  • 80 x 106 x 23.5 mm (Q8J installed, no RJ45)
Input Voltage:
  • 6 to 8.4V
Power consumption:
  • 7W (two RF transmitters active, PL RAM active)

Specific Use

The Q8J SDR is ideal for space applications that require high-performance SDR and low power consumption. It is often used for applications such as satellite or launcher communications, Internet of Things, and RF sensing.
